Bulldog PI, LLC is a private investigation agency headquartered in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with offices in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville and Spartanburg, SC dedicated to providing the highest quality investigative services.  Our investigative staff is experienced and result oriented to provide personalized, efficient service throughout the State of South Carolina. Bulldog PI has over 65 years of combined investigation experience. With all the above experience, our clients at Bulldog PI, LLC gets all that knowledge and skill put into each of their cases along with contacts around the country collected over the years.

We utilize the latest technology and equipment in our cases, including state-of-the-art video surveillance equipment and digital cameras, allowing us to track and film your subject in almost any venue – indoors or outdoors.  We also employ the use of mobile GPS trackers using global positioning systems, which we deploy on your subject’s vehicles.  This allows the vehicle to be followed without incurring the expense of a full-time investigator.

Meet Our Team

Matt Hooper, Owner/Founder

Matt Hooper has almost 30 years of Law Enforcement and Private Investigation experience. Over 13 of those years were in an undercover capacity and deputy commander of the drug enforcement unit.  He was honored by the Myrtle Beach Rotary Club as Police Officer of the Year, being the first undercover drug agent to receive the award in 21 years.  He also has received a host of accommodations from multiple law enforcement agencies local, state and federal.  Hooper was a local and federally sworn investigator conducting complex operations that stretched from coast to coast as well as into other countries with an extremely high success rate. His time in law enforcement he investigated countless investigations involving a vast range of crimes as well as being an instructor in numerous categories, one of which was in surveillance. With all the above experience, our clients at Bulldog PI, LLC gets all that knowledge and skill put into each of their cases along with contacts around the country collected over the years.

Bill Knowles, Criminal Division Head

Bill Knowles served as a Narcotics Commander of the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit.  He began his law enforcement career in 1978, working as a uniformed patrol officer with the Horry County Police Department.  While employed with the Horry County Police Department, Knowles was promoted to Detective working in Property Crimes and later assigned in 1986 to the newly former Homicide Division where he was involved in more than 400 death investigations.  Knowles was promoted in 1990 to Lieutenant and assumed command of the Detective Division until he accepted employment in 1999 with the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).  He retired from SLED in October 2005, when he accepted his position as Narcotics Commander for the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit. Knowles has serves as Chairperson for The Law Enforcement Coordinating Counsel, Drug Sub-Committee for the United States Attorney’s Office.

Commander Knowles has completed numerous training’s throughout his career.  He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 165th Session in 1991.  He has worked numerous cases, which has received national attention to include the 1991 Murder of Crystal Faye Todd.  This was the state’s first DNA case, which resulted in the arrest and conviction of Johnnie Kenneth Register.  He has appeared on the Sally Jessie Rafael Show, A Current Affair, 48 Hours, and Court TV. In 2011 he received the Strom Thurman Award for Law Enforcement Excellence.

Knowles furthermore has conducted training for new detectives and law enforcement personnel to include Interview and Interrogation, Crime Scene, Report Writing, and Courtroom Testimony.

Bulldog PI, LLC is in agreement that all work and professional relationships must be of the highest ethical and moral standards. Bulldog PI, LLC shall provide professional and competent services to all clients. This code of ethics constitutes those values agreed to by the employees of Bulldog PI. This code is to be honored and practiced as a guideline for all professional activities.

  1. An employee shall provide professional services in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
  2. An employee shall observe, and adhere to the precepts of honesty, integrity, and truthfulness.
  3. An employee shall be truthful, diligent, and honorable in the discharge of their professional responsibilities.
  4. An employee shall honor each client contract, adhering to all responsibilities by providing ethical services within the limits of the law.
  5. An employee shall safeguard confidential information and exercise the utmost care to prevent any unauthorized disclosure of such information.
  6. An employee shall refrain from improper and unethical solicitation of business; including false or misleading claims or advertising.
  7. An employee shall use due diligence to insure that all employees and co-workers adhere to this same code of ethical conduct; respecting all persons, performing the job diligently and working within the limits of the law.
  8. An employee shall never knowingly cause harm or defame the professional reputation or practice of colleagues, clients, owners, the company, or any employee of the company.
  9. An employee shall never undertake an assignment that is contrary to the Constitution of the United States of America or the security interests of this country.

  3. After the client has signed up and the meeting ends with the investigator the referral program is VOID.
  4. Make sure to give the investigator correct contact information so Bulldog PI can get the $50 cash to your friend in a quick manner.
  5. The investigator will determine the meeting place to transfer the $50 in cash.
